It all started with a helping hand and a conversation.
About seven years ago, while I was out for a walk one morning, I noticed an elderly woman struggling to bring her trash cans to the curb down a dangerously steep driveway. She was visibly straining, and I could see the situation was becoming hazardous - one slip could have resulted in a serious fall. Without hesitating, I rushed over and offered to take her heavy trash cans to the curb, potentially preventing what could have been a painful accident. She gratefully accepted my assistance.
Fast forward to about 2 years ago. During a conversation with my mother, who had just turned 65, she shared some things that she no longer wants to do. Living in a cold weather topped her list, followed by the hassle of grocery shopping, and the chore of taking out the trash.
That critical moment of helping the vulnerable elderly woman with her trash cans when she urgently needed the assistance, combined with my mother's reminder that like her, many people simply don't like performing the necessary task of taking the trash out, inspired the creation of Trash Knight can-to-curb service.
